STOPPAGE TIME

One thing you’ll see in almost every World Cup match this summer is “Stoppage Time.” It’s extra minutes added at the end of a half to make up for time lost during the game. The referee decides how much extra time to give, and teams know to use it to their advantage. In some ways, we all live in “stoppage time.” Our days are not guaranteed, and the time we have on earth is ultimately not up to us but to God. That’s why the Bible says, “Be careful how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, making the most of your time” (Ephesians 5:15-16). In this series, we’ll let God’s Word teach us how to make the most of the time He’s given us.
