If the truth can set us free, then lies can hold us hostage. The Bible refers to Satan as “the father of lies” (John 8:44). He’s a master of dressing up lies and parading them as truth. If he can seduce us into thinking a “lie” is “truth,” then he can trick us into doing what’s unhealthy and dangerous for our lives. In our culture, there are many commonly held beliefs that seem right and innocent on the surface but pull us away from God’s purpose for our lives. In this series, we’ll expose cultural myths, or “tall tales,” that are often believed by those around us. With thousands of distracting voices crying out to us, we want to listen to the only voice that matters… God’s voice.

In late 2021, First Church entered a new season of ministry. Our church family boldly trusted God's calling on us for 100% engagement. Now, more than a year into the Unstoppable initiative and it's evident how much God is using his people at First Church to do Kingdom work. Serving and leading is at an all-time high. We are continually breaking attendance records across every ministry which means more people of all ages are regularly receiving the good news of the gospel. Through Unstoppable generosity, we've been able to support and in some cases, expand our support for ministry partners locally and globally all while expanding our N. Garnett Road campus. We are currently in the largest phase of expansion for the Unstoppable initiative. When it's complete, we will have a new and larger elementary ministry facility!
