Catch the wind

The Bible repeatedly uses “wind” as a metaphor to explain how God’s Spirit operates in the world. Wind is one of the only things we understand as both non-physical and tangible at the same time. We can’t hold it, but we don’t doubt its existence. We can see its influence and power all around us. So, if God’s Spirit operates like the wind, what should be our relationship to it? We need to “catch the wind.” In other words, we trust God to empower and drive our lives. Galatians 5:25 says: “Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit.” In this series, we’re studying the book of Acts and seeing how the early church let God’s presence empower its mission.
