Elder Selection

The following men have been nominated as elders of First Church. They represent the best interest of the church and possess the qualifications listed in: 1 Timothy 3:1-7, Titus 1:5-9, 1 Peter 1:1-4 and Acts 20:28-31. Elders serve three-year terms and provide shepherding and leadership for the church. If you have any reason why any of these men don’t possess the biblical qualities necessary for eldership, please submit it in writing to a current elder by June 30th.


Dale Wallace was born in 1968 in Muskogee, Oklahoma. He grew up in a Christian home and was baptized into Christ at the age of 11 at Boulevard Christian Church in Muskogee. After graduating from Muskogee High School, Dale attended Oklahoma State University where he met his future wife, Heather Harger. He graduated from OSU in 1990, and he and Heather were married shortly thereafter. Dale has worked in information technology throughout his career, and he is currently employed by Alliance Coal in Tulsa as a Senior Systems Analyst. Dale and Heather have two daughters, Heidi (29) and Ashley (27). The Wallace family has been a part of First Church since 1996, and Dale has served four previous terms as an elder.


Chuck Wheeler and his wife Debi have been married for 40 years and have been members of First Church since 1997. He has served as an elder since 2001. Over the years, Chuck has been involved in numerous ministries including Worship, LOVE918, and Missions. He also co-teaches the Crossroads class with Dale Wallace on Sunday mornings. Chuck has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology from OSU and has worked in the oil and gas industry for over 40 years. He is currently Sr. Technical Manager for ChampionX Artificial Lift in Broken Arrow.  Chuck and Debi live just west of Claremore. They have three grown daughters, Kendra, Amy, and Kelsey, and two sons-in-law, Jake and Nathan.  They also are blessed with three beautiful granddaughters, Evangeline, Lillian, and Julia.


Meet the Barham family. Jerry and Tara met at the grocery store where they both worked and have been married for over 33 years. They have lived in the Owasso area for most of their lives and joined First Church in 1993. Jerry and Tara have been Christians for all of their adult lives and their children are Christians as well. Their daughter Meghan, son-in-law Dakota and grandson Grady live in Bartlesville. Their son Skyler passed away in 2015. Jerry has worked at Hughes-Anderson Heat Exchangers since 1995, where he is currently the Manager of Engineering and Tara works in the home, where she is able to spend time with their grandson Grady.
