The following men have been nominated as elders of First Church. They represent the best interest of the church and possess the qualifications listed in: 1 Timothy 3:1-7, Titus 1:5-9, 1 Peter 5:1-4 and Acts 20:28-31. Elders serve three-year terms and provide shepherding and leadership for the church. If you have any reason why any of these men don’t possess the biblical qualities necessary for eldership, please submit it in writing to Executive Minister, Matt Thomason, or a current elder by July 13.

Adam Chisholm is married to Christina Chisholm. They have three kids: Blake, Teagan, and Eli. He is a huge basketball fan (playing, watching, and coaching). He moved from Texas to Oklahoma in the summer of 2022 to take a new job as an in-house attorney. They started going to First Church almost immediately. Adam serves as a small group leader for 9th grade boys. He also helps with the First Students (specifically Jr. High) ministry and serves in First Years. His wife and daughter also serve in First Years. Oldest children, Blake and Teagan, are small group leaders for First Students. Youngest son, Eli, has served in FirstKids and has joined the Jr. High group. The family has served other ministries and events, like Love918 and KidFest. "We love First Church because the church really does try to love like Jesus and really focuses on the next generation of Christians, " said Adam. "I grew up in the church and was baptized in late elementary school. When we moved here, it was a total God thing. He led us here, checking all the boxes, and we took on the commitment to faithfully serve God in whatever He calls us to do. God truly blesses our family."

The Hamar family has been part of the First Church community since 2005, actively participating in small groups, First Kids, and First Students ministries (including five years of YouthQuake!). Brannon is married to Jodi and are the proud parents of three adult sons: Blake and his wife, Madison, of Richardson, Texas; Luke and his wife, Brooke, of Kansas City, Missouri; and Reece and his fiancée, Macy, also of Kansas City. The Hamars are deeply grateful for the fellowship, friendships, and opportunities to serve alongside their church family over the years.

Paul and his wife, Jennifer, said they "have been blessed with 34 wonderful years of marriage." They have three grown children and two grandchildren, all of whom actively attend and serve at First Church. "We became part of the First Church family in 2017 after relocating to Owasso due to a work transfer," said Paul. "Over the past eight years, we have cherished the relationships we've built within this loving community," he continued. Paul was baptized into Christ in 1985 at the age of 17. He said God's grace has allowed him to serve His church in various capacities throughout the years. Currently, he serves on the Worship Team as a drummer and he also leads a small group. He said it has been his privilege of serving as an Elder at First Church from 2021 to 2023 and he looks forward to continuing to serve the Lord wherever He leads him.
